Chateau de Colombieres sur Orb

In the ownership of the Martin/Salavin family for over 200 years The Chateau de Colombières is situated in the Regional Park of Haut Languedoc. This 90 acre estate offers an opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the grounds with views and access to some of the most beautiful scenery, countryside and mountains in Languedoc. Within the Château grounds are a 13th century fortress, several acres of woodland, natural streams and access to a stretch of the River Orb with excellent fishing and canoeing.
The Regional Park, on the edge of the Cevennes and the southern edge of the Massif Central, is no more than a 50 minute drive from Mediterranean beaches and 45 minutes to the circuit of the Cathar Castles. The local area has opportunities for fishing, golf, tennis, horse riding, water sports and visits to an abundance of unspoilt medieval villages (circulades) and local AOC wine domaines. With the ski slopes of the Pyrenees just under 3 hours away our gîtes offer an all year round opportunity to relax and explore.
The concierge/reception located in the former olive oil mill at the chateau can provide full local tourist information and all guests will be greeted by the proprietors on arrival.
Dining out offers endless possibilities, with the spa town of Lamalou les Bains (10 minutes) and the local market town of St Pons (15 minutes) offering a wide selection of restaurants, brasseries and bars. Nearby villages offer regional dishes with a choice of local wines.
The gîtes offer traditional architecture with 21st century comfort. Summer guests have the use of the 15m swimming pool and winter guests the benefit of full gas fired central heating. All gîtes have fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers and washing machines, and all bed linen and towels are provided.
